Sukumar Ray

Sukumar Ray was a multi-talented artist born on October 30, 1887, in Kolkata, India. He held various occupations such as poet, writer, illustrator, playwright, and photographer. During his lifetime, Ray was a citizen of British Raj.

He received his education from Presidency University, Kolkata. His notable works include "HaJaBaRaLa" and "Abol Tabol".

Sukumar Ray was the father of Satyajit Ray, a renowned Indian filmmaker and writer. His own father, Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury, was also a prominent figure in the world of literature and arts.

Sukumar Ray passed away on September 10, 1923, in Kolkata.
