Shirin Ebadi

Shirin Ebadi is an Iranian lawyer, judge, writer, human rights activist, and politician, born on June 21, 1947, in Hamadan, Iran. She received an education from the University of Tehran and holds Iranian citizenship.

Ebadi is well-known for her work across multiple occupations, which include serving as a judge, being a writer, dedicating herself to human rights activism, and practicing law. In addition to these roles, she has also been involved in politics.

Shirin Ebadi founded the Defenders of Human Rights Center and was awarded the 2003 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her efforts in human rights and democracy.
