Riess Group is a web development agency producing websites and apps, primarily for e-commerce merchants on Shopify. The company's head office is based in Waco with a second office in Paris, France. Riess Group was founded in 2006.
In October 2017, Riess Group built the first augmented reality app for Shopify for American television personalities Fixer_Upper_(TV_series). The app was subsequently showcased by Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook and Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
In 2021, Riess Group assisted Canadian digital agency Jam3 (now part of MediaMonks) with the e-commerce integration of ComplexLand, the first time multiple independent e-commerce merchants could interact to sell physical goods in a virtual 3d market. This was accomplished using headless commerce, still a relatively new and emerging trend for e-commerce. Riess Group also supported the headless relaunch of magnolia.com in July 2021 along with Discovery, Inc. and was featured in Netlify's 2021 Headless Commerce conference.
