Ravana (इावण, Rāvaṇa) is a mythical character from Hindu tradition. He is known as the lord of the Rakshasas, a mythical ruler of the island of Lanka, which is present-day Sri Lanka. Ravana is a central character in the Indian epic "Ramayana", where he serves as the antagonist of the main character, Rama. He is also known by other names, such as Dashagriva and Revun.

Ravana was born in Sri Lanka, and he is the son of Vishrava and Kaikesi. Among his siblings are Kumbhakarna, Vibhishana, and Surpanakha.

Ravana had multiple partners, including Mandodari and Dhanyamalini. From these relationships, he had several children, such as Indrajit, Atikaya, and Akshaykumara.
