Ragnar Frisch

Ragnar Frisch (1895-1973) was a Norwegian economist and professor known for his contributions to econometrics and production theory. He was born in Oslo, Norway, and held citizenship in the country. Frisch received his education from the University of Oslo and went on to become a professor of economics.

Throughout his career, Frisch made significant contributions to his academic discipline and tutored a number of successful doctoral students, including Olav Reiersøl and Trygve Haavelmo. A prominent figure in the field of economics, he was awarded the 1969 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his work.

Frisch passed away in Oslo, Norway, on January 31, 1973, at the age of 77.
