Peter Mogila (born on 21 December 1596 in Suceava) was a priest who held citizenship in both Moldavia and the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. He was educated at the Zamojski Academy. Throughout his life, Mogila contributed to the establishment of educational institutions, notably founding the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Mogila passed away in Kyiv on 22 December 1646.
