Paul Viollet

Paul Viollet (born October 24, 1840, in Tours; died November 22, 1914, in 5th arrondissement of Paris) was a French historian, archivist, and librarian. He was a citizen of France. Viollet studied at the École Nationale des Chartes, a prestigious French institution of higher education that trains students in the fields of history, archives, and library science. During his career, Viollet held the occupations of librarian, historian, and archivist. As a prominent figure in his field, Paul Viollet contributed to the understanding of French history and the conservation of historical documents.
