Paolo Uccello (born June 15, 1397) was a painter and mathematician from Pratovecchio Stia. He was educated under Lorenzo Ghiberti and was known for his works in painting and fresco. Uccello's notable works include "Saint George and the Dragon", "The Battle of San Romano", and "Funerary Monument to Sir John Hawkwood". His genre focused on history painting.
Some more of his notable works were "Saint George and the Dragon (Uccello)", "The Hunt in the Forest", "La Thébaïde", "The Nativity (Burne-Jones)", and "The Annunciation (Rubens)".
In addition to being a painter, Uccello was also a mathematician. He passed away on December 10, 1475, in Florence.
