Lorenzo Ghiberti

Lorenzo Ghiberti was a Florentine artist, known primarily for his work in sculpture. Born in 1378 in Florence, Ghiberti held citizenship in the Republic of Florence. He was also recognized as an architect and a writer.

Ghiberti's most notable works include Florence Baptistery and Gates of Paradise. As a prominent figure in the art world, Ghiberti remained in Florence until his death on December 15, 1455.
