Otto Wallach

Otto Wallach was a chemist born in Königsberg, Russia on March 27, 1847 . He held citizenship in the German Empire and was educated at the University of Göttingen and Humboldt University of Berlin . Wallach is known for his work on the Isoprene rule and the Wallach rearrangement .

During his career, Wallach was awarded the 1910 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the Davy Medal . His nationality was Prussian and he later belonged to the German Empire . Wallach's doctoral advisor was August Wilhelm von Hofmann , and he advised doctoral student Norman Haworth .

Otto Wallach passed away in Göttingen on February 26, 1931 .
