Nuno Gomes, full name Nuno Miguel Soares Pereira Ribeiro, was born on July 5, 1976 in Amarante, Portugal. He is a former professional football player and holds Portuguese nationality. Gomes is known for his career as a Portuguese football player.
During his career, Gomes received several awards and accomplishments. While playing for Benfica, he won two Portuguese Championships (2004/2005, 2009/2010), two Portuguese Cup titles (1996/1997, 2003/2004), two Portuguese League Cup titles (2008/2009, 2009/2010), and one Portuguese Super Cup (2005). Gomes also won the Italian Cup in the 2000/2001 season with Fiorentina.
As a member of the Portugal national team, Gomes achieved several milestones, including being a Silver medalist at the European Championship in 2004, a semi-finalist in the 2000 European Championship (3-4 places), and a 4th place finish in the 2006 World Cup.
Nuno Gomes has a daughter named Laura, born on August 6, 1999.
