Nexium

NEXIUM is a prescription PPI used in adults for healing and symptom relief of acid-related damage to the esophagus called erosive esophagitis (EE); to treat heartburn and other symptoms that happen with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD); to reduce the risk of stomach ulcers in some people taking pain medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs); along with antibiotics to treat patients with a stomach infection and a stomach ulcer; and for the long-term treatment of conditions where the stomach makes too much acid, including Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome.

NEXIUM is used in children 1 to 11 years of age and in adolescents 12 to 17 years of age to heal EE and to treat heartburn and other symptoms that happen with GERD. NEXIUM is used in children 1 month to less than 1 year of age to treat GERD with EE.
