Danny Morrison is a Canadian speed skater, Olympic champion in the team race, two—time world champion in the 1500 m, winner of 9 World Championship awards.
Biography
I started skating for the first time at the age of three. Initially, he ran both on the short track and on the big oval. After 2003, he concentrated on speed skating.

At the 2006 Olympics in Turin, he won silver, in the final the Canadian team lost to the Italians. In the same year he won the World Cup in the team race.
The following season, 2006/2007, at the World Championships in individual distances, he won three medals — silver in the 1000 m and in the team race, bronze in the 1500 m. He became the third in the 1500 m World Cup .
In the 2007/2008 season, he became the 1500 m world champion, was third in the 1000 m. In the World Cup — the second in the 1000 m and in the team race.
In 2009 , at the World Championships , he was second in the 1000 m and third in the 1500 m . He won the second gold in the World Cup in the team race.
In 2010, in Vancouver, he became the Olympic champion in the team race together with Mathieu Giroud and Lukas Makowski.
In the following season, 2010/2011 failed to win a single podium at the World Cup and won two podiums at the World Cup stages.
In 2012, he became the world champion for the second time at a distance of 1500 meters.
The 2012/2013 season began with a victory in the 1000 distance at the first stage of the World Cup. However, in December 2012, while skiing, he broke his leg and missed most of the pre-Olympic season.

World record
For one year he was the world record holder at 1500 m.
On March 14, 2008, at the World Cup in Calgary, he ran 1500 m in 1.42,01, breaking the record of Erben Vennemars. A year later, on March 6, 2009, Shani Davis ran this distance in Salt Lake City in 1.41,80.
