Milton Conrad Schmidt (1918-2017) was a Canadian professional ice hockey centre, coach, and general manager, primarily known for his work with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Born in Kitchener, Ontario, he held Canadian citizenship and was a member of the Kraut Line.
Schmidt was educated at Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School and King Edward Public School. Over the course of his career, he received multiple awards and distinctions, including four Stanley Cup championships with Boston (1939 and 1941 as a player, 1970 and 1972 as general manager), the Lester Patrick Trophy for contributions to hockey in 1996, the Hart Trophy in 1951, and NHL Scoring Champion in 1940. Milt Schmidt passed away in Needham, Massachusetts.
