Her place of birth was Maryborough, Queensland. Throughout her career, she held various occupations within the music industry, including guitarist,singer,vocalist, and musician.

During her lifetime, Hansen's citizenship remained in Australia. Brendan Hansen, her father, played an important part in her early life. Unfortunately, Mary Hansen passed away on December 9, 2002, in London, England.
