Luko Dashvar

Luko Dashvar (real name Iryna Ivanivna Chernova; * October 3, 1957, Kherson) is a Ukrainian writer. In addition to her writing career, she worked as a journalist until 2006, and after 2006 she also began writing screenplays for television.

Laureate of the Coronation of the Word Literary Prize: in 2007 the novel "Village is Not People" won the Second Prize and the "Debut of the Year" prize from the book portal "Reader's Friend", in 2008 for "Milk with Blood" she won a diploma, and in 2009 her novel "Paradise. The Center received the Publishers' Choice diploma.

Early years and education

She was born in Kherson on October 3, 1957. She received two higher educations: Odessa Institute of Light Industry (Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering) and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine (Master's degree in Public Administration).

After receiving her first higher education (technical), she worked in engineering, got married and had children. Then she resigned and went to work as an accountant for letters to the newspaper. That's how her journalistic career began in 1986. After six months of working in the newspaper, she became deputy editor-in-chief.

Since 1991 he has been the editor-in-chief of the Kherson youth newspaper called?. After the collapse of the USSR, she held the position of chairman of the Committee on Press and Information of the Kherson Regional State Administration. After resigning, she founded her own two newspapers in Kherson, the editorial office of which was looted. After that he moved with his family to Kyiv.

Since 2001 he has been the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Selyanska Zorya. The writer defines the period of work in "Peasant Star" as an unforgettable life experience, in this edition the writer invented the column "I remember all my life", in which people, sending letters to the editors, told them about the only unforgettable fact of their lives. For some time she worked as a journalist and editor of women's magazines.

Later, she graduated from the courses of screenwriting of Hollywood professor Richard Krevolin. It is known that the writer also studied at the school of practical journalism and courses in neurolinguistic programming.

Since 2006 he has been engaged exclusively in literary and screenwriting activities, Ukrainian (novels) and Russian (screenplays).

Beginning of writing

He writes scripts for TV series and TV movies in Russian. One of her first screenplays in 2007 was writing a screenplay for the TV movie LunaOdesa, shot by the Ukrainian Media Group for 1 + 1.

Dashvar's first novel, The Village is Not the People, was published in 2007 and won the Coronation of the Word 2007 award. The next novel, Milk with Blood, won the Coronation of the Word 2008 and won the BBC Book of the Year 2008. The third novel by the author "RAY.Center" became a graduate of the contest "Coronation of the Word 2009" in the category "Publishers' Choice".

In autumn 2010, the fourth novel by the writer "Mother of All" was published. In 2012, the Coronation of the Word competition awarded the writer the Golden Writer of Ukraine, which is awarded to writers whose works have sold more than 100,000 copies.

In the period from 2011 to 2012, the author presents the trilogy "Beaten is" - a series consisting of three novels, each of which describes the future life of one of the three guys - the heroes of the novel "PARADISE.Center" - Makar, Max and Gotsyk. The fifth and first novel of the trilogy "Beaten is. Makar "was published in 2011 with a circulation of 15 thousand copies. The second part of the trilogy "Beaten is. Max "was published in early 2012 with a circulation of 25 thousand copies. The latest novel in the series "Beaten is. Gotsyk ”was published in the summer of 2012 with a circulation of 30,000 copies.

In 2013, the author's eighth novel, The Smell of Meat, was published. In October 2015, the KSD publishing house announced the release of a new, ninth, novel by the writer called "Protection". On February 2, 2016, the official presentation of the book PoKrov and a meeting with the author took place in Kyiv. In July 2018, the KSD publishing house announced the release of a new book by the writer on August 16, 2018 - the novel Initiation.

All the author's books were published by the Kharkiv publishing house "Family Leisure Club". The total circulation of the writer's books is already more than 300 thousand copies. In this regard, many Ukrainian media call the author "the most widely circulated writer in the country."
