Her full name is Luana Margo.
After graduation, she worked as a courier at MGM Film Studios. Studied drama at Jeff Corey's acting studio. Studied with Jack Nicholson, Richard Chamberlain, Roger Corman and Sally Kellerman.
She began her career as an actress in low-budget cinema. Her debut films were "Reform School Girl" (1957) and "Life Begins at 17" (1958).
She played Louise Harolan in Francis Ford Coppola's debut film thriller "Dementia 13" (1963) and Katherine in Roger Corman's drama "The Well and the Pendulum" (1961).
Became an iconic actress of the 1970s, thanks to her performance as Lisa in the acclaimed film Bareback Rider (1969, directed by Peter Bogdanovich). An acting hit was Sylvie in Robert Altman's That Cold Day in the Park (1969).
Luana Anders has worked extensively on TV, starring in art house and low-budget films. She also acted as a screenwriter.
She died of breast cancer in the summer of 1996.
