Leroy Grumman

Leroy Grumman (born January 4, 1895) was an officer in the United States armed forces, an aircraft pilot, and a noted inventor. He was born in Huntington, New York and held citizenship in the United States. Grumman received his education at Huntington High School in New York, Cornell University, and the Cornell University College of Engineering.

In recognition of his contributions, Leroy Grumman was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2003. He passed away on April 10, 1982, in Manhasset, New York.
