Laura Shin is a long-time journalist who is best known for covering the cryptocurrency and blockchain space. She got her start in journalism as a part-time proofreader for Newsweek before assuming the role of assistant producer. She later freelanced, writing articles for major publications including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Fortune and more.
In 2013, Shin joined Forbes where she covered cryptocurrency- and blockchain-related stories for the outlet, later becoming senior editor. In 2018, she was the first mainstream journalist to pivot toward covering the crypto space full time, launching and hosting the podcasts Unchained and Unconfirmed.
