LSD-Pip is a compound related to LSD with N,N-diethyl replaced by a piperidine group. This compound from the ergoline family is several times less potent than LSD as an agonist of serotonin receptor 5-HT2A. LSD-Pip is more potent than pyrrolidine and morpholine analogues LPD-824 and LSM-775. Studies have suggested that this compound is inactive as a psychedelic in humans. Synonyms for LSD-Pip include 50485-23-9, NSC210590 and SIR3-9viii-44.

Ergoline is a name for the basic heterocyclic moiety of the alkaloids of the fungus ergot. All natural ergolines have a carbon substituent at C-8. Ergot-alkaloid compounds have an ergoline nucleus analogous to biogenic amines which allows them to interact with receptor molecules including catechalamine and serotonin.
