Kofi Awoonor

Kofi Awoonor was a Ghanaian poet, diplomat, writer, professor, novelist, and politician born on March 13, 1935, in Gold Coast (British colony). Awoonor received his education at Achimota School and later attended the University College London (UCL). As a diplomat, he served his country, Ghana, throughout his career.

In addition to his diplomatic roles, Awoonor was a prolific writer and poet, known for his contributions to the world of literature. He also worked as a professor and a politician.

Kofi Awoonor passed away on September 21, 2013, in Nairobi.
