Kay Nielsen (1886-1957) was a Danish artist, illustrator, scenographer, and animator, best known for his collaborations with Disney, for whom he contributed many story sketches and illustrations, notably for the film Fantasia. Nielsen was born in Copenhagen and passed away in Los Angeles. He was a citizen of Denmark and had the birth name Kay Rasmus Nielsen. Nielsen was sometimes known under the pseudonym Nielson, Kai.

Nielsen received his education at the Académie Julian in Paris. His notable work includes the illustrated book East of the Sun and West of the Moon. Kay Nielsen's mother was Oda Nielsen.
