Jonas Mekas

Jonas Mekas (born December 24, 1922) was a film director, poet, and writer. He was born in Biržai, Lithuania and later held citizenship in the United States. Mekas was the founder of The Film-Makers' Cooperative, an organization that promoted and distributed avant-garde and experimental films by its members.

Mekas directed several films throughout his career, including "Diaries, Notes and Sketches" and "Reminiscences of a Journey to Lithuania". As a person involved in various aspects of the film industry, Mekas was known for his contributions to cinema and the arts.
