Jeff Weiner is an internet business executive, best known for serving as the chief executive officer of LinkedIn.


Jeff Weiner is an internet executive. As of 2022, Weiner was the executive chairman of LinkedIn; he was previously LinkedIn's chief executive officer (CEO).

Professional career

Before Weiner assumed his current role as executive director, he was the CEO of LinkedIn from December 2008 to June 2020. During Weiner's tenure as CEO, LinkedIn grew from 388 to almost 16,000 employees in thirty offices around the world. The company grew its membership base from 33M to more than 690M and increased its revenue from $78 million to almost $8 billion. While Weiner was CEO, Microsoft purchased LinkedIn for $26 billion in 2016.


From 2001 until June, Weiner served in various roles at Yahoo!, culminating with the position of executive vice president of the network division. During that time, Weiner led a team of 3,000 employees and managed products that reached 500 million consumers.

Warner Brothers Studios

From 1994 until 2000, Weiner served in various roles at Warner Brothers Studios, culminating in the role of vice president online. In this role, Weiner oversaw Warner Brothers Online and Entertaindom (one of the web's first original entertainment destination sites).

Earlier work

Early in Weiner's career, he served as an analyst for Braxton Associates, a management consulting division of Deloitte and Touche. He briefly served as a founding partner of Windsor Media from June 2000 to April 2001.

Next Play Ventures

In 2014, Weiner cofounded Next Play Ventures with Brian Rumao. Next Play's stated mission is to coach and invest in entrepreneurial leaders building world-class, purpose-driven organizations.

Concrete Rose Capital

In 2019, Weiner became a founding limited partner of Concrete Rose Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm. Concrete Rose invests in ventures led by underrepresented founders of color, founders addressing the needs of underrepresented consumers of color, and founders with a demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive cultures and building diverse teams.

The Compassion Project

In collaboration with EverFi, Weiner founded the Compassion Project, a national initiative to provide compassion education through bringing social-emotional learning (SEL) experiences to elementary school students.

Personal Life

Weiner is married to Lisette Weiner. The couple has two children.
