Jakub Jan Ryba

Jakub Jan Ryba (born October 26, 1765, in Přeštice) was a Czech composer, teacher, musician, poet, and translator. He held Czech nationality and was a citizen of the Czech Republic. Jakub Jan Ryba composed music in the genres of folk, liturgical, and classical music. His most notable work is the Czech Christmas Mass.

Ryba was also a father, with a son named Jakub Jan Ryba. He was born to a father who shared the same name, Jakub Jan Ryba. On April 8, 1815, Jakub Jan Ryba passed away in Rožmitál pod Třemšínem .
