Ivar Giaever

Ivar Giaever (born April 5, 1929) is a Norwegian-American physicist and professor. He was born in Bergen, Norway, and holds citizenship from both Norway and the United States.

Giaever received his education from several institutions, including the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the Norwegian Institute of Technology, and Clare Hall, Cambridge. His work in the field of physics earned him the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physics.
