Indra, officially known as इन्द्र , is a deity from the Vedic tradition and holds citizenship in the Vedic country . He is known by several aliases, including the deity of lightning , the lord of Svarga , the king of the gods , and the ruler of the heavenly kingdom . Indra is also considered the deity of light , rain , river flows , and war .

Born to Kashyapa and Aditi , Indra has several siblings, including Aditya , Spouse , and Shachi . He is the father of multiple children, such as Jayanti , Arjuna , Váli , Indraya , Midhusha , Devasena , Nilambara , Ribhus , Rishabhanatha , and Shashthi .
