Imagine with Meta AI is an AI text-to-image generator model developed by Meta AI, based on Emu, the company's image foundation model. Imagine, Meta AI's text-to-image generation capability was initially only available across Meta's messaging apps. Imagine with Meta AI is a standalone version of the company's text-to-image generation model, available on its own website, expanding access to Imagine beyond chats. The model was first previewed at Meta Connect 2023 in November and was released in beta for US users on December 6, 2023. Users can access Imagine on the model's website with a Meta login.

Imagine with Meta AI was trained on 1.1 billion publicly visible Facebook and Instagram images to render novel images based on a natural language prompt. Each generation returns four 1280×1280 pixel images that users can save in JPEG format. Many images created by Imagine indicate the use of AI. Images include a small "Imagined with AI" watermark logo in the lower left-hand corner. Meta states it is planning to apply invisible watermarks to its deep learning models to increase transparency and traceability. These watermarks aim to be resilient to common image manipulations like cropping, color changes, and screenshots.
