Hlynyany is a city in Ukraine, the administrative center of the Hlyniany territorial community.

In ancient times, locals preferred clay dwellings. The name of the town of Hlyniany comes from the family of Hlyniany, who came to this place and founded the town of Hlyniany. And they came from the captured in 1136, the crusader Albrecht Medved, the city of Luchin, now the German city of Lenzen. It was first mentioned in documents from 1379, when the town of Hlyniany became the property of the Polish king, although the settlement existed before.

The Magdeburg right was received in 1397 from Vladislav II Jagiello. He also handed over the clay estates of the Krushelnytsky family.
On May 21, 1497, a joint movement of the nobility was convened near Hlyniany.
The tax register of 1515 in the city documents the absence of a priest (hence, there was already a church at that time), the existing city mill.
On July 31, 1572, a confederation of Rus' and Podil voivodships took place in Hlyniany.
1578 - the town received the right to hold 3 fairs a year.
As the city stood at the crossroads of trade routes, the affairs of local merchants and artisans went well. But the Horde pushed all the same way. Therefore, in 1603 a wooden-earthen castle was built in Glynyany, surrounded by a deep moat.
From September 9 to September 12, 1604, a general meeting of the united Ukrainian-Polish army took place in Hlyniany, which captured Moscow on June 20, 1605.
The center of the city was taken in a tight circle of the suburbs: Viitstvo, Zadvirya, Dolishnya, Zastavya, Pidzamche, Melnyky.
