Henry II of France was born on March 31, 1519, in Saint-Germain-en-Laye . His parents were Francis I of France and Claude of France . Throughout his life, he held the occupation of a politician and king . The second son of Francis I and Duchess Claude of Brittany , he became the Dauphin of France upon the death of his elder brother Francis in 1536 .
He was the founder of the Parlement of Brittany . Henry II owned various items such as the Diana of Versailles, Chateau-Neuf de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, and the Parade Armour of Henry II of France . He was married to Catherine de' Medici .
Henry II had several children, including Claude of France (1547–1575), Charles IX of France, Henry III of France, Francis, Duke of Anjou, Diane de France, Elisabeth of Valois, Joan of France (1556), Victoria of France, Margaret of Valois, Louis of Valois, and Henri d'Angoulême .
