Guercino

Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, known as Guercino , was an Italian painter and designer born on February 8, 1591, in Cento, Italy. He was a prominent artist during the Baroque period, known for his skill in creating portraits and religious paintings. Guercino had multiple pseudonyms, including Guerchin, Guercino, and Il Guercino.

Some of his most notable works include "The Burial of St. Petronilla" and "Et in Arcadia ego (Guercino)". Guercino had a successful career and eventually passed away in Bologna, Italy on December 22, 1666. Throughout his lifetime, he held Italian citizenship and contributed significantly to the artistic community.
