Georges Simenon

Georges Simenon (1903-1989) was a Belgian writer known for his detective fiction works, particularly the Jules Maigret series. Born in Liège, Belgium, Simenon spent most of his career as a writer, novelist, and journalist, but he also dabbled in photography.

Simenon wrote under several pseudonyms, including G. Sim and Monsieur Le Coq. His work often focused on the genre of detective fiction. Some of his notable works include The Strange Case of Peter the Lett, The Strangers in the House, La Veuve Couderc, and La Vérité sur Bébé Donge.

Simenon had a son, Marc Simenon, and held Belgian nationality. He passed away in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1989.
