Gaston Maspero (23 June 1846 - 30 June 1916) was a French historian, anthropologist, and professor. He was born in Paris, France and held dual citizenship with France and the Kingdom of Italy. He studied at Lycée Louis-le-Grand and later attended the École Normale Supérieure. Maspero passed away in Paris on 30 June 1916.
