GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is a Russian space-based satellite navigation system operating as part of a radionavigation-satellite service.
The basis of the system are 24 satellites moving above the surface of the Earth in three orbital planes with an inclination of orbital planes 64.8 ° and orbital altitude 19 100 km. The main difference from the GPS system is that GLONASS satellites in their orbital motion does not have a resonance (synchronism) with the rotation of the Earth, which gives them more stability. Thus, the grouping of spacecraft GLONASS does not require additional adjustments throughout the active existence.
