Fred Hoyle

Fred Hoyle was a British screenwriter, astronomer, writer, physicist, and mathematician born on June 24, 1915, in Bingley, United Kingdom. He passed away on August 20, 2001, in Bournemouth.

Hoyle was educated at various institutions, including Bingley Grammar School, Emmanuel College, Cambridge, St. John's College, Cambridge, and the University of Cambridge. Paul Dirac served as his doctoral advisor .

Throughout his career, Hoyle advised numerous doctoral students such as John Moffat (physicist), Leon Mestel, Jayant Narlikar, Cyril Domb, Sverre Aarseth, Peter Alan Sweet, and Raymond McLenaghan. He had a child named Geoffrey Hoyle.
