Francis Lieber

Francis Lieber (born March 18, 1798, in Berlin, Germany; died October 2, 1872, in New York City, United States) was a jurist, economist, philosopher, diplomat, historian, and a naturalized citizen of Germany and the United States. He studied at the University of Jena, which enabled him to pursue his diverse professional endeavours.
