Ferdinand Bauer (born January 20, 1760, in Valtice; died March 17, 1826, in Hietzing) was an Austrian painter, illustrator, and explorer from the Austrian Empire . He is best known for his work as a botanical illustrator, but he was also an illustrator and painter in other fields during his career. Bauer's notable work includes the seminal publication "Flora Graeca". He held Austrian nationality.
