Federico Zandomeneghi - Italian impressionist painter. Federico Zandomenegui was born in Venice. His father Pietro and grandfather Luigi were neoclassical sculptors. The latter completed the monument to Titian, found in the Frari of Venice. In his youth, he preferred painting to sculpture, enrolling in 1856, first at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, and then at the Milan Academy of Fine Arts. In 1859, in order to avoid conscription into the Austrian army, he fled Venice.
