Eli Wallach (born December 7, 1915, in New York City; died June 24, 2014, in New York City) was an American character actor, film producer, and actor. Wallach was known for his work in western films, and he was a United States citizen.
Throughout his career, Wallach received a BAFTA Award, Emmy Awards, and an Honorary Academy Award. Wallach was educated at Erasmus Hall High School, Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, and City College of New York. Before pursuing his career in acting, Wallach served as an officer in the armed forces.
