Overview

Edith Frank (January 16, 1900 – January 6, 1945) was a German-born housewife who later acquired citizenship in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and also experienced statelessness. She was born in Aachen, Germany and died in Auschwitz concentration camp.

Edith Frank was the mother of Anne Frank and Margot Frank. She was married to Otto Frank and together they had two daughters, Anne and Margot. The family sought refuge during World War II by going into hiding in Amsterdam, but they were eventually found and arrested by the Nazis. Edith's death preceded her daughter Anne's by approximately a month in 1945, and her life was tragically cut short at the age of 44.
