Overview

Dixon Denham (1786-1828) was a British explorer and officer in the armed forces. Born in the City of London, Denham was educated at the Merchant Taylors' School in Northwood and later attended the Royal Military College in Sandhurst. Throughout his career, he was a citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

Denham's occupation led him on numerous explorations during his lifetime. Unfortunately, his life came to an end on the 8th of May, 1828, when he died in Freetown.
