The Defense Innovation Marketplace is made to enhance communication about the Department of Defense acquisition priorities in the private industry and the DoD innovation ecosystem. The organization tries to produce information to help establish better plans for Independent Research & Development investment projects. The Defense Innovation Marketplace has established a set of Communities of Interest (CoIs) to encourage multi-agency coordination and collaborations in several technological innovation areas and improve component investments made by all participants in the DoD innovation ecosystem and private industry.
