Christian Doppler

Christian Doppler (1803-1853) was an Austrian mathematician, physicist, scientist, astronomer, and professor. He was born in Salzburg, Austria on November 29, 1803, and he later died in Venice on March 17, 1853. Doppler held citizenship in Austria.

Doppler was educated at various institutions, including TU Wien, the University of Vienna, and Czech Technical University in Prague. He is notably remembered for his work on the Doppler effect, a phenomenon he first described in 1842 that has since found applications in various fields such as astronomy, radar, and medical imaging.
