Christel Quek is a London-based entrepreneur and leader in the technology, blockchain, and consumer electronics spaces.
After earning her bachelor's degree from the National University of Singapore, Quek began her career at Havas as a digital marketing strategist. She later took on different roles at major companies, such as regional social business lead at Samsung Asia and head of content at Twitter (X).
In 2015, Quek started working at Brandwatch, a consumer intelligence software platform. She held the role of vice president of the Asia-Pacific region and opened the company's first office in Asia, which was located in Singapore. After two years with the company, she left and became the chief marketing officer (CMO) of Zilliqa, a blockchain platform. She later became a strategic advisor to the company from 2017 until 2021.
In 2017, Quek cofounded Bolt, a social TV ecosystem that uses the blockchain to democratize access to monetized content creation through the use of smart contracts. The company has developed several blockchain-related products, one of which is an app that has 8 million users worldwide.
Quek has been named as an innovative and promising businessperson by several sources. In 2019, she was named as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 in Asia for media, marketing, and advertising. A year later, in 2020, she was named by Hong Kong's Prestige magazine's 40 Under 40 for being an influential young person, particularly with her work expanding the uses of blockchain technology.
