Chengbu Miao Autonomous County, also known as Chengbu, is a county in Hunan province in China. It is an ethnic autonomous county where the Miao people live. The county has mountains around it, and the Yuanjiang River runs through it.
Remnants of people inhabit Chengbu that date back to the Neolithic age. The name of the county was established in 1073. It is said to have been given that name, meaning "city steps," because the original town was small and could be walked in a few steps.
The county has been under the rule of several governing bodies, including the one from Nanliang Prefecture and Baoqing Prefecture. In 1949, the county was liberated, and in 1956, it became an autonomous county. It was the second Miao autonomous county in China.
The total population of Chengbu is nearly 275,000. There are several ethnic groups in the area, with the Miao people making up approximately 65 percent of the population in the county. Other ethnic minorities include the Han, Dong, Hui, and Yao.

A famous festival called the Double Six Folksong Festival takes place on the sixth day of the sixth month, according to the lunisolar calendar. Festivities include song, dance, wearing traditional clothing, and playing traditional games. There is also a "thousand-people-long" table feast that uses a table that is hundreds of feet long so attendees can enjoy food.
