The Cell Atlas Initiative is a project that is creating a reference that maps human cells in order to aid researchers and medical professionals with understanding human health and diagnosing, monitoring, and treating diseases. The map is intended to be 3D and should be able to show connections between genes associated with disease are active within the body and where they are located.
