KAROLINA PIEKARSKI.

American and Italian actress, sex symbol of the 1960s.

She was born May 28, 1931, in Johnstone, Pennsylvania, USA.

Her real first and last name was Caroline Pekarski.

Her father was of Polish descent and worked as a travelling salesman.

Caroline Baker went to college, to raise money to study in the acting studio danced in a Miami nightclub, worked as an assistant magician. In 1949, she won the Miss Florida Fruits & Vegetables beauty pageant. Graduated from an acting studio in New York.

She made her film debut in Easy to Love / Easy to Love (Clarice, 1953). Acted on TV, performed on the Broadway stage.

She signed a contract with Warner Bros. Company, which, in the person of Baker planned to create an alternative to Marilyn Monroe, the actress of "XX Century Fox.

She is known for her roles in movies - Baby Doll Meagan in the film "Baby Doll" by Elia Kazan (1956, nominated for an Oscar) from a screenplay by Tennessee Williams, Liz Benedict in "Giant" (1956), Rina Marlow in the drama "The Bagmen" (1964, directed by Edward Dimitriks). Edward Dmytryk), the lead role in the biographical film Harlow (1965), and Eva Rowling in John Ford's The War in the Wild West (1962).

In 1958, there were problems with the film studio, as Carol Baker flatly refused to star as a nymphomaniac in Too Much, Too Soon (based on the book by writer Erskine Caldwell). The contract was terminated.

From 1965 to 1980 she lived in Italy. Played in 30 Italian films. Filmed in Spain, Germany, Mexico, France. Played in London theaters.

Performed the role of Margarita in "The Harem" (1967, directed by Marco Ferreri) and the main role in Corrado Farina's mystical film "Baba Yaga" (1973). In the early 80's she returned to America, where she continued her film career.

In 1983 she published a book of memoirs : "Baby Doll: An Autobiography".
