Bruno Maderna (born April 21, 1920 in Venice, Italy) was an Italian composer, musician, conductor and music teacher. He passed away on November 13, 1973 in Darmstadt, Germany.
Trained at some of Italy's most prestigious music institutions, Maderna attended the Milan Conservatory, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello di Venezia. His compositions primarily fall under the opera genre.
In addition to his work as a composer, Maderna was also involved in the Italian Resistance during World War II, serving as a partisan (military) member. He was a musicologist by profession, and throughout his career, he made significant contributions to the field of music and education in Italy, his country of citizenship.
