Levinson has directed numerous films, including "Tin Men", "Young Sherlock Holmes", "The Natural", "Toys", "You Don't Know Jack", "Diner", "Sleepers", "The Wizard of Lies", "Rain Man", "The Humbling", and "Bugsy". In 1988, he received the Academy Award for Best Director, an award recognizing outstanding achievement in directing throughout the year.
Levinson is the father of Sam Levinson, a film director, and screenwriter.
