Bambangan is a tropical fruit native to the islands of Borneo and Sulawesi, Malaysia and Indonesia. The fruit is similar in shape to an apple, but much larger in size, its diameter can reach 10-15 cm.

The rind of the fruit has a thick texture and is greenish-yellow in color when still immature. As the fruit matures, the skin turns brown and the flesh turns yellowish. The pulp of the Bambangan has a sweet and aromatic taste with a slight sour note.

The bambangan is very popular with the locals and is widely used in local cuisine, including soups, curries and sauces. It can also be eaten fresh or used to make desserts and ice cream.

In addition, Bambangan has a number of health benefits as it is rich in nutrients including vitamins C, A, B1 and B2 as well as minerals such as potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium.
